Flooding is expected as a result of the combination of the high tides and weather conditions for the morning high tide on Saturday the 6th December. The next high tide at Newgale is expected to occur at approximately 6:45AM. Flooding to property, low-lying land and the road is expected. Winds are forecast to be near gale force, (force 7 on the Beaufort scale) from a general south-westerly direction. Impacts are expected to be most significant at high tide, however, due to the combination of recent rainfall and river levels in Brandy Brook, impacts are also possible from the evening of the 5th December. Conditions are expected to improve after the high tide on Saturday morning. Be careful on the beach, coastal footpaths and roads. Be careful as sea spray and waves could be dangerous and could contain debris. We will continue to monitor the situation. This message will be updated as the situation changes.
